We couldn’t contain our excitement for fall (if you follow us on social media, you know we’ve been posting nonstop about it) and it was only fitting to write a post sharing how we decorated our home this year. We’re definitely on the early side of decorating for the holidays but we’ve always loved this time of year and that means prolonging the season as much as we can (even if it’s still 85 degrees outside ;)) What’s better than a crisp morning, a pumpkin candle burning inside, snuggling up in your cozy blanket, and drinking your pumpkin spice coffee? It puts everyone in a better mood, and we can’t wait to share how we’ve cozied up our home for the season and share some tips on how to bring Fall into your home.
One of the best parts about growing up in Buffalo was that we always got to experience all four seasons. Winters could have been shorter but some of our most vivid memories happened in the Fall. The school year starting back up, waiting at the bus stop in the mornings when we were younger, and Friday night football games cheering on the sidelines. When I (Lauren) moved to Texas, Fall always felt so short, and I was so excited to move back to the East Coast and experience Fall again in the Carolinas. It only makes sense that we go all out for Fall and get so excited when we start to sense the air changing.
As the air starts to cool and the smell of Autumn is in the air, it’s the perfect excuse to update your space with cozy Fall decor. This year, we were able to repurpose a lot of our Fall decor we purchased last year but, of course, we just HAD to add some new statement pieces that we know will be favorites for years to come. Keep reading to see some of our favorite finds that may very well be the perfect additions to your home this year as well!
Elevate your shelves by adding in some statement pieces like these checkered pumpkins. These are one of our favorite seasonal finds this year. We decided to invest in some bigger pieces this year because we find ourselves reusing seasonal decor year over year and the styles itself don’t change much. They bring some more color to the space, and you’re immediately drawn to them because of the pattern.
One of the easiest and most affordable ways to change up your space is introducing stems to your home. It brings some height and visual interest into the space and they become a focal point in the room. We swapped out our vases with orange and red colored stems and it completely changes the look of the space. HERE are some of our favorites.
The kitchen is one of our favorite parts of this house and the lighting in the mornings is just so picturesque. We keep it simple with the kitchen decor and leave most of our kitchen staples as is. We did, however, introduce a few of these seasonal elements to complete the space. This vase is a Target find from last year, but they brought back a similar one this year that we linked. We swapped out our ribbed glass vase and hydrangeas with this vase and it brings the perfect amount of fall to the space. Adding some candles like this one, is another one of our favorite, more affordable ways to bring in a cozy autumn feel.
