This year, I’ve decided to put myself first—not just physically, but mentally as well. I keep telling myself that 2025 is my year, and I truly believe that I’m capable of creating the best version of myself. Whether it’s staying consistent with my routines, adopting a positive mindset, or learning new things to help me grow, I’m focusing on holistic well-being. Here’s a peek at the 10 things I’m doing to prioritize myself this year:
Visualization is such a powerful tool. I’ve been taking time each day to picture my future self—the confident, fulfilled, abundant person I aspire to be—and how she moves through her day. I picture the home I’m living in, what my mornings look like, how I spend my day and who I spend it with. By creating a clear mental image of my desired future, I can align my daily actions with that vision.
I’ve made a commitment to change my internal dialogue. Instead of focusing on doubts or insecurities, I’m practicing positive self-talk. It’s not always easy, but I’m learning to reframe negative thoughts into affirmations. I do this every morning when I’m walking and say positive affirmations out loud to get my mind used to hearing those things. The more I say them, I truly believe it. Every time I catch myself thinking something negative, I remind myself of what I’ve accomplished and how capable I am of achieving my goals.
One thing I’ve learned is that belief is a game-changer. I truly believe that good things are coming my way. I’ve let go of the fear that holds me back and embraced an optimistic mindset. When you expect good things, it creates a magnetic energy that attracts opportunities and positive experiences into your life.
Walking has become a non-negotiable part of my day. Even if I’m busy, I prioritize this simple form of movement. Walking helps clear my mind, boost my energy, and gives me the space to visualize my future. It’s also where I find the most inspiration and have the space to think of new ideas.
I’ve set a routine that includes strength training 5 days a week, Pilates once a week, and a goal of walking 13,000 steps per day. Working out for me isn’t even a question anymore since I’ve made it part of a routine and it’s become a daily habit for me. I also feel more energized throughout the day when I get a workout in first thing in the morning.
Nutrition is key to feeling my best. I’ve always focused on eating healthy but I’ve made it an even bigger focus to consume more protein and whole foods to fuel my body properly and give me sustainable energy throughout the day. It’s all about nourishing myself from the inside out, and it’s made a world of difference in how I feel.
I’ve been dedicating more time to my skincare routine, making sure I’m using products that nurture my skin. Every time I hear someone give beauty tips on how to maintain a youthful appearance they always mention investing in skincare and wear SPF. This year, I’ve made it a priority to invest in high-quality skincare and also skin treatments to maintain a youthful appearance. Our most recent favorite has been microneedling at Skin Spirit in Charlotte, NC.
Growth is important to me—both personally and professionally. I’ve been focusing on learning new things to help grow our business like how to create higher quality content, creating engaging hooks and investing time in other platforms outside of TikTok and Instagram.
I came across the concept of the “Let Them Theory,” by Mel Robbins which is all about letting others live their lives and make their own decisions. It frees you from unnecessary stress, frustration, and emotional exhaustion. It shifts the focus back to yourself and your own growth, emphasizing that your peace and energy are more important than trying to manage the behaviors or outcomes related to others.
This year, I’m prioritizing my energy. I’ve learned to say yes to the things that truly energize and inspire me—whether that’s working on personal projects, spending quality time with loved ones, or engaging in activities that bring me joy. On the flip side, I’m saying no to things that drain me, whether it’s commitments that don’t align with my goals or relationships that aren’t healthy. Protecting my energy is a non-negotiable.
As I continue focusing on these practices in 2025, I’m excited to see how they shape my journey and help me become the best version of myself. It’s not about perfection, but about progress and consistency. By prioritizing my mental, physical, and emotional well-being, I’m setting myself up for a year full of growth, opportunities, and fulfillment. If you’re looking to make this year your best one yet, I hope these 10 steps inspire you to take action, prioritize yourself, and start creating the life you deserve. ✨
